Preparation for Worship: Sunday, December 17, 2017

Revelation 1:5b–6 ESV, “To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood and made us a kingdom, priests to his God and Father, to him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.”

We gather together as a people loved by God who have been freed from sin by the blood of Jesus Christ.  God alone is worthy of all glory and dominion forever and ever.  Come and worship!

The voices of the church are the most important instruments in our music ministry. Singing together is one way we obey Scripture’s commands to encourage and exhort one another. Get ready to sing!

We will finish our first section of the Psalms today with an expository sermon preached from Psalm 22. Prepare yourself by reading through the Psalm. Ask God to open our hearts to God’s Word and God’s Word to our hearts.

  • What emotion does the Psalm begin with?
  • What emotion does the Psalm end with?
  • Can you find where Psalm 22 is quoted in the New Testament?

Pray that God would equip us to be faithful workers in the harvest of lost souls.

Matthew 9:37–38 ESV, “Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.””
