Our weekly “fighter verse” continues in Psalm 34. In it are some great promises for those who fear God. Take refuge in God this week as you meditate and pray through this passage.
Psalms 34:6–8 ESV, “This poor man cried, and the Lord heard him and saved him out of all his troubles. The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear him, and delivers them. Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good! Blessed is the man who takes refuge in him!”
The Word and Prayer:
In our text from Sunday we were exhorted to be sober-minded and watchful because the Devil is an adversary who prowls around seeking to devour his prey (1 Peter 5:8-9). What are some ways we can watch and pray so we don’t fall into temptation? What have you found to be most helpful to keep your faith firm to resist the devil? How can this passage fuel our prayers?
Looking Ahead: Sunday Songs
On Sunday we will sing a couple of songs you may not find familiar. Please begin to listen and learn these hymns so you are ready to worship with the church on Sunday.
If you can gather with us, please come! If you are not able to gather, please spend some time tonight reading the Scriptures and praying for your Christian brothers and sisters at GBC and around the world.
