Preparation for Worship: Sunday, December 31, 2017

Revelation 19:6–8 ESV, “Then I heard what seemed to be the voice of a great multitude, like the roar of many waters and like the sound of mighty peals of thunder, crying out, “Hallelujah! For the Lord our God the Almighty reigns. Let us rejoice and exult and give him the glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and his Bride has made herself ready; it was granted her to clothe herself with fine linen, bright and pure”— for the fine linen is the righteous deeds of the saints.”

The Lord’s Day offers us the blessing of rejoicing and exulting in God with others.  As we look ahead toward 2018 and no matter what happened in 2017 we can say, “Hallelujah! For the Lord our God the Almighty reigns.”  Come and worship!

Singing:

The links below are provided to help us sing together. Familiarize yourself with the tune so we can sing these rich Bible truths together.  Singing with other Christians is one way we teach and admonish one another (Col 3:16).

Preaching:

As we look ahead toward a new year the preaching this Sunday will be a topical sermon focusing on our relationship with the Bible.  You will not want to miss the simple truths and helpful applications God has for us. Read through the following passages and ask yourself, “What do these verses teach me about my relationship with the Bible?”

  • 1 Peter 1:23
  • Deuteronomy 8:3
  • Acts 20:32

Pray!

Our preparation for worship is woefully incomplete if we do not pray!  In 2 Corinthians the Apostle Paul writes the Christians in Corinth they must help his ministry team “by prayer so that many will give thanks on our behalf for the blessing granted us through the prayers of many (2 Cor. 1:11).” Pray!

2 Corinthians 1:11 ESV, “You also must help us by prayer, so that many will give thanks on our behalf for the blessing granted us through the prayers of many.”
