Preparation for Worship: Sunday, October 8, 2017

Isaiah 55:7–8 ESV, “let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; let him return to the Lord, that he may have compassion on him, and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon. For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord.”

Jehovah God is worthy of worship. His thoughts and ways are unique in holiness, goodness, wisdom, and power.  The Lord’s Day gives us a precious occasion to have our thoughts confronted with God’s thoughts as found in the Bible.  Come and worship!

Singing:

The links below are provided to help us sing together. Familiarize yourself with these truth-filled songs so you can help your church family grow in love and adoration of our great God.

Preaching:

The expository sermon in our series through Psalms will be preached from Psalm 13. Try to read through the Psalm with someone in your family or church family before Sunday.

  • How would you describe the emotion of this Psalm?
  • For what does David ask?
  • What does this Psalm teach you about your relationship with God?

Pray!

Please, please, please PRAY!  Ask God to remind us of his extravagant mercies to us so that we would present ourselves as living sacrifices to him in spiritual worship.

Romans 12:1 ESV, “I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.”
