“For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.” – Ephesians 2:10, NLT
This Sunday is an occasion to remember and help remind each other we are God’s masterpiece created anew in Christ for good works. What good things might God do through us as a church family this coming week as new creations in Christ Jesus?
Some of the songs we plan to sing together are:
- The Solid Rock
- Oh How Good It Is
- Behold the Lamb (communion hymn)
- The Power of the Cross
- His Robes for Mine
Next week (2/12) we plan to sing “How Great You Are” which was inspired by the old hymn, “How Great Thou Art.” Please begin learning this hymn. Perhaps you can make this part of your daily private worship?
We plan to remember and proclaim the great saving acts of King Jesus by means of the Lord’s Supper. Please pray for God to use this time of communion to deepen our love for God and one another in Christ.
The expository sermon will be preached from Galatians 5:13-15. Verse 14 will occupy most of our attention.
- Do you notice any apparent contradictions between Galatians 5:3-4 and Galatians 5:14?
- How does verse 14 serve as the reason for verse 13?
I hope you don’t tire of this final appeal to pray. We simply must pray. What we need the most is God’s work accomplished in us by his Spirit and through his Word. This God-wrought work brings him glory and spreads the fame of Jesus. Pray!
Grace and peace to you in Christ,
