Tonight we will resume our exploration of Psalm 141 by learning from John Piper about how God guards the Christian for purity from evil. Read through the Psalm and pay careful attention to verses 1-4. In verse 3, from what do you believe God would guard David’s heart? How would you describe David’s request in verse 4? How might David’s request inform and instruct our praying?
The Word and Prayer:
Tonight we will look to God’s Word and do the work of prayer. In his book entitled Prayer, Tim Keller states,
“Prayer is how God gives us so many of the unimaginable things he has for us. Indeed, prayer makes it safe for God to give us many of the things we most desire. It is the way we know God, the way we finally treat God as God. Prayer is simply the key to everything we need to do and be in life” (page 18).
If you can gather with us, please come! If you are not able to gather, please spend some time tonight reading the Scriptures and praying for your Christian brothers and sisters at GBC and around the world.
